The Volunteerism has been a core function of youthreach, with the objective of promoting a volunteer ethic, and building a community of volunteers. Through the mass volunteerism programme, youthreach mobilises, sensities and places volunteers with partner NGOs working on issues such as children, women, animals and the environment. The mass volunteerism programme rests on a facilitation process that is sensitive and effective, ensuring that the volunteer finds the best match for his/ her skills and the NGO finds the best resource person for an identified gap. The user-friendly portal directs volunteers to volunteer options best suited for them. At any given time, youthreach has over 200 volunteering options listed on the portal which are available with 59 grassroots organizations. These options are updated every two months. At a parallel level, youthreach works to build capacity amongst its partner NGOs to mobilise and manage volunteers and leverage skills that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
