Master Class Session by Dipika Pallikal
India’s top squash player Dipika Pallikal and sports brand Adidas teamed up to conduct a Master class session for the children. In the two-hour session, the 22-year-old from Chennai guided our budding young players on how to improve their performance and play. The children were very excited to meet the celebrity squash player and were so motivated and inspired to learn from her that even after the two hour session they were unwilling to go home. Dipika interacted with each and every player individually and taught them how to improve their strokes and use different techniques to play in the court. Youthreach would like to thank Adidas for this tremendous opportunity given to our children to meet and play with Dipika Pallikal.

The children participated and displayed utmost zeal and enthusiasm during the Merchant’s Cup Squash Fall Challenge organised by the Great Indian Squash League to celebrate the World Squash Day at the DDA Squash and Badminton Stadium. The children also got an opportunity to play with the national level players .This time they seem very confident and some participants reached at the quarterfinal level.

Family Sport Picnic: An Event by Magic Bus
In February 2014, Magic Bus organised a Family Sports Picnic Event at Modern School, Vasant Vihar. The aim of the event was to take the egalitarian vision of ‘Youth for Sport’ to the field and have children from diverse socio-economic segments play together. Children from Salaam Baalak Trust, Vidya and Child and Udayan Care represented Youthreach in the event. Children participated with much gusto even though many of them were new to tennis, football, cricket, volleyball and other games. Children from Salaam Baalak Trust won everyone’s hearts with their excellent performance during the cricket match.
